The Grey Hair Playbook: Blend, Embrace, or Commit

Going grey isn't a problem to solve — it's a style decision to make on purpose. Three honest routes, and what each one asks of you.

Grey hair arrives with a decision attached, and most men make it by not making it. Here are the three deliberate options, with the maintenance bill for each.

Route one: embrace it fully. Grey reads as distinguished when the cut is sharp and the hair is healthy — and washed with a purple-toned shampoo once a week so it stays silver instead of drifting yellow. Cost: one bottle. This is the right answer more often than the grooming industry wants you to believe.

Route two: blending. A semi-permanent color, matched to your natural shade and applied for five minutes at the shop, that knocks back about half the grey. It fades gradually over four to six weeks, so there's never a line, never a 'dyed' moment, and nobody at the office can say what changed. This is what we do most at Iron & Oak, and it's what André specializes in.

Route three: full color commits you to roots every three to four weeks, forever, and everyone eventually knows. We'll do it well if you want it — but we'll also tell you honestly that route two gets you ninety percent of the effect with ten percent of the tell. Whichever you choose, choose it on purpose. Grey isn't the enemy. Drift is.
